A DESCRIPTIVE STUDY TO ASSESS THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE ON PREVENTION AND FIRST AID MANAGEMENT OF BURNS AMONG MOTHERS IN PAEDIATRIC DEPARTMENT AT SELECTED TERTIARY HOSPITAL KELAMBAKKAM KANCHEEPURAM DISTRICT TAMIL NADU INDIA

Abstract :

 A descriptive study to assess the level of knowledge on prevention and first aid management of burns among mothers. To find out the association in our study education, occupation  , kitchen availability, not significant in age, types of family, area of residence  non-probability convenient sampling technique with the sample of 92 mothers questionnaires were formulated, structured interview schedule were perform  to assess the knowledge . The collected data was tabulated and analyzed. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used. The mean value is 8.14% and the standard deviation is 1.024. The study shows that 2 of the mothers are having adequate knowledge and 38 having moderately adequate knowledge and 52 having inadequate knowledge, so that health education for the mother can be in corporate to improve the mother’s knowledge
