Abstract :

The present study was undertaken to study the values of senior secondary school students in relation to their home environment. Values were treated as dependent variables whereas home environment was treated as independent variable. Descriptive survey method was used for the present study. Random sampling technique was used to select the sample for the present study. The sample comprised of 600 senior secondary students of private schools affiliated to Central Board of School Education (CBSE). Home environment inventory by Mishra (2012) and Personal Value Questionnaire by Sherry and Verma (2012) were used to study the effect of home environment on values of senior secondary school students. Mean, S.D., ‘t’ test and Coefficient of correlations (r) were used to analyse the data. The findings of the study revealed that significant relationship exists between home environment and values of senior secondary school students. It was also found that the values of senior secondary school students with high and low home environment differ significantly. Significant difference was found between the values of male & female; rural & urban senior secondary school students with high and low home environment.
