Abstract :

Literature is like a mirror. Not only does its record the joys and sorrows of people, but also reflects the vicissitudes of a nation. An individual emotion reflects on the society which in turn reflects on the rise and fall of a nation. The history and culture of a nation shapes the patterns of its literature with different contents, themes, and keynotes. These in turn, by repetition over a period of time, evolve as special images pregnant with deep meaning for a nation, in other words, they become legends and symbols carrying great significance.
