IPO RESEARCH IN INDIA – A LITERARY REVIEW

Abstract :

 Capital market, a fascinating field for academicians and industrialists to research about its performance. In recent years, research on capital market has widened considerably. This can be witnessed by the quantity and quality of papers published in journals. The rationale of this paper is to examine the current status of research on IPOs in general, with special focus on Indian IPOs. This paper offers a literature review of IPO research in India taking 12 papers published from 1995 to 2013. It also explains a conceptual framework to summarize the research in this field. This paper also suggests some possible areas of IPO research in the future. Both practitioners in companies and academics might find the study useful, as it sketches major lines of research in the field.
