Segmented Mandibular Prosthesis: A Case Report

Abstract :

It has been studied and observed in the literature that a long span fixed partial denture having a pier abutment with rigid connector often faces a scenario of clinical failure as the centre abutment is subjected to fulcrum like forces. However if that rigid connector is replaced with a non rigid one distal to the pier abutment, these harmful forces can be controlled and intraoral life of the prosthesis can be substantially increased
