				<title>ABSTRACT</title>
				<p>&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;&amp;amp;nbsp;The study aims to check the antibacterial activity of various branded soaps against bacteria present in wound&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;
&amp;lt;div&amp;gt;infection.Wound infection is one of the major problem faced by modern population due to changing environment&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;
&amp;lt;div&amp;gt;and pollution.Antibacterial soap has the ability to remove 65% to 85% of bacteria from human skin. To determine the&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;
&amp;lt;div&amp;gt;antibacterial activity of antibacterial soap, three brands of commercial soap (CS&amp;amp;ndash;1,CS&amp;amp;ndash;2, CS&amp;amp;ndash;3)was evaluated against the bacteria isolated from&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;
&amp;lt;div&amp;gt;wound samples. The antibacterial activitywas determined bywell diffusion method, Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and Minimum&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;
&amp;lt;div&amp;gt;Bactericidal Concentration(MBC). The highest efficacy was shown by CS&amp;amp;ndash;1 against Staphylococcus spp, (24mm), the second most efficacy CS&amp;amp;ndash;2&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;
&amp;lt;div&amp;gt;was shown by Pseudomonas spp (22mm).The least efficacy CS&amp;amp;ndash;3 was shown by Streptococcus spp (19mm). MIC shows that CS&amp;amp;ndash;1has good&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;
&amp;lt;div&amp;gt;inhibitory concentration against all the test organisms, which is then further proved by MBC.&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;</p>
