Hydroxy chloroquine:-Boon or Bane ?

Abstract :
Hydoxychloroquine (HCQ ) is a hydroxylated derivative of chloroquine that has both antimalarial & anti inflammatory activities1. It is used for the treatment of malaria & other autoimmune diseases like Systemic lupus erythematosis,Rheumatoid arthritis,Sarcoidosis etc2Presently it is approved by ICMR for the prophylaxis of Covid 19 infections among the health workers & also for the treatment of patients with Corona Virus Disease 2019 ( Covid 19 )infections3 But US FDA warns against the side effects of inappropriately used HCQ.
