ON THE TERNARY QUADRATIC DIOPHANTINE EQUATION (2k + 2)(x2 + y2 ) (4k 1)xy = 8(k +1)z2

Abstract :

 The ternary quadratic Diophantine equation represented by 2 2 2 (2 2)( ) (4 1) 8( 1) k x y k xy k z + +−− =+ is analyzed for its patterns of non – zero distinct integral solutions. A few interesting relations between the solutions and special polygonal numbers are exhibited.
