Abstract :

Background: Traditionally term birth refers to every birth between 37 weeks & 0 days of gestation to 41 weeks & 6 days¹. However heterogenecity in neonatal outcome led to redefinition of term pregnancy. ?ose births 37 0/7 weeks through 38 6/7 weeks are now defined as early term and those at 39 weeks 0 days through 40 weeks 6 days are defined as full term2. ?erefore it is very important to choose the correct timing for elective cesarean section to prevent unnecessary morbidities. Methods: Design of the study: A Record based Analytical Cross sectional study. Study subjects: Pregnant women who were posted for repeat elective cesarean delivery Conclusions: ?is study found no significant difference in neonatal outcome of elective cesarean section scheduled at different terms of gestation (early term and full term).
