Assessment of quality of life of people living with HIV/AIDS attending Antiretroviral Therapy centre in an Urban area.

Abstract :

 Aims and objectives: 1) To study socio–demographic profile of people living with HIV/ AIDS. 2) To assess their quality of life.

Material & methods: Cross–sectional study was conducted on 319 subjects and Quality of life was assessed using WHO –Bref questionnaire & analyzed using SPSS software.

Results: Majority were females (52%) & 40.8% subjects belonged to 35–45 yrs age group. 80.88% were literate, 75.9% were married and 65.83% belonged  to socio–economic class– II. 52.98% subjects had CD4 <300.The QOL score was highest for social domain (3.25±0.53). Male reported poor QOL in different domains & statistically significant result was obtained in General facet.

Conclusions: QOL score was highest for social domain. Male reported poor QOL in different domains
