PARENTS‘ ATTITUDE TOWARDS LEARNING ORIENTATION OF STUDENTS AT HIGHER SECONDARY LEVEL

Abstract :

 

Parents’ attitude towards child’s education is important in determining school attendance and academic achievement of the child. Favourable attitude towards schooling and education enhances parents’ involvement in children’s present and future studies .Parent’s attitude towards their children’s education is affected adversely by low Socio–Economic Status of parents; it is assumed that the attitude of parents of tribal children will be unfavorable towards education. Parents’ attitude is a measure or an index of parents’ involvement. The study has ought out clearly the learning orientation of students is closely linked with concerned parental attitude. Understanding the importance of parental attitude among students studying at higher secondary level which positively help them to perform better in their academic wards. The present study focused the importance of learning orientation among students by the nature of parent attitude. On the other hand, parents’ pressure, support, anxiety has a great implies on the level of learning orientation a (performance) among students studying at higher secondary levels. Parents must adopt a new style to boost the self confident of children and direct them to perform the academic streams.
