STUDY ON EFFECT OF MEDICAL EXPULSIVE THERAPY FOR LOWER URETERIC CALCULI

Abstract :

We studied 300 patients with ureteric colic secondary to lower ureteric calculus to compare efficacy of tamsulosin and silodosin. Symptomatic relief, stone passage rate were studied. Tamsulosin and silodosin are equally effective in medical expulsive therapy. It improves stone expulsion in lower ureteric calculus. Silodosisn being more receptor specific, has lesser side effects and is equally effective as tamsulosin.
