 INTRODUCTION

The thyroid gland derives its name from the Greek thyreos or shield, whereas enlargement or goiter is derived from gutter, the latin term for throat. Its management of disease forms a major share of head and neck surgery. FNAC and USG are being used in association with clinical features for diagnosis with surgery being the mainstay of treatment. An attempt has been made in the present study to evaluate the various surgical modalities applied to treat thyroid nodules
