7 4 01 02 ABSTRACT

A randomised study comparing post ballon mitral valvotomy (BMV) failure versus elective mitral valve replacement (MVR). The patients were randomised into 2 groups and evaluated. Emergency MVR following BMV failure has higher risk as compared to elective MVR in patients of rheumatic mitral stenosis.
