Background: The patient–centered care(PCC) model isa main determinant of healthcare quality. In this study, we evaluated patients‘ perceptionsof PCC.Methods: A community–based cross–sectional study was conducted in Eastern province, Saudi Arabia from December 2017 to May 2018. Adults aged >18 years participated. Data were collected through a self–administered electronic questionnaire using the Consultation Care Measure, which measuredthe chief domains of PCC and practical medicine. The questionnaire underwent cross–cultural adaptation and testing before distribution. Results: Overall, 1272 individuals participated (96.7% Saudi; 74.6% women). Onethird reported having a chronic disease. Conclusion:Saudi participants reported perceived value in all five PCC domains. Apractical medicine approach was most preferred by older patients and those with a chronic disease, andobtaininga prescription was the least preferred item. Strategies should be developed to improve the application of PCC at the primary care level.
