BACKGROUND:– The most common surgical procedure in obsterics is cesarian delivery. Different tecgniques have been proposed to minimize morbidity but the debate about the ideal technique is going on still. The aim of this study was to assess the intraoperative and postoperative advantage and disadvantage following exteriorization of uterus at cesarian section under intraperitoneal repair of uterus. METHOD:– It is a randomised control trial conducted by DY Patil Medical College Sample size 100 cases, 50 each were randomly allocated into case and control group. Patients going through either emergency or elective cesarian section more randomly allocated into exteriorization and intraperitoneal group. RESULT:– There is significant difference in operating time in intraperitoneal and exteriorization groups. There is significant difference between 2 groups regarding vomiting, nausea intraoperatively number of analgesic doses, insidence of cystitis, return of bowel function and wound infection. Period of hospitalization was also same. CONCLUSION:– Exteriorization of uterus at cesarian delivery has advantage over intraperitoneal closure of uterus. Advantages were– good closure, less intraoperative haemoglobin reduction, easy identification of uterus anamoly, adnexal mass if present and exposure of posterior aspect of lower segment
