Chronic neglected patellar tendon ruptures are rare as most of the acute patellar tendon ruptures are disabling and often primarily treated (1). Usually patients present late to the hospital due to missed diagnosis, native treatment or neglect requiring acute repair to reestablish knee extensor continuity and to allow early motion.
