Background: This cross–sectional questionnaire–based study was conducted among 100 MDR–TB patients attending tertiary health care institute, Ahmedabad, India between April–May, 2017. Objectives: To explore the knowledge level, attitude and behaviour of Multi Drug Resistant (MDR) Tuberculosis patients. Method: Questionnaire based cross sectional study. Data was entered in EpiData and analysed in MS–Excel 2010. Results: The study showed that only 39% participants understand true meaning of MDR–TB. Mode of transmission of TB and duration of treatment was correctly identified by 81% and 95% of participants respectively. Only around 50% participants knew that pregnant women, diabetes patients and HIV patients contracts TB more easily. 97% participants believe that their TB is curable. Covering mouth while coughing was the most commonly reported (87%) practice followed by participants to prevent transmission of TB. Conclusion: Improvise patients’ knowledge regarding severity of MDR–TB. Definitive steps are required for improving patients’ attitude towards TB.
