Introduction: Iron deficiency anaemia occurs in 2– 5% of adult males.Established causes of iron deficiency include inadequate iron intake, chronic blood loss, hookworm infestation, hemolysis or a combination of these factors. Adult men have no physiological losses or demands, compared to women and hence study of iron deficiency in this age group is significant.
