At present, day–care endoscopic surgery in Gynaecology is gaining popularity, due to no hospital stay more than 24 hrs, ultimate low cost and rapid return to the working place. This study is actually a type of application study at our tertiary care hospital in South Bengal. Materials and Method A total of 100 cases were selected for a study period of one year from 1st August, 2018 to 31st July, 2019. The patients were suffering mainly from “Abnormal Uterine Bleeding (AUB)”; “Adnexal mass” and “Infertility”. These patients, after proper counseling, gave their consent for day–care surgery,– to get cured of the disease–process or to get the information of their ailments. The outcomes were studied, observing the time taken by the anaesthesia as well as the time taken by the endoscopic surgeon and also the time for complete recovery for the total procedure with obviously, ensuring the patients, well being at all costs and we strictly followed the PADSS i.e. the “post – anaesthesia – discharge – scoring – system” at the discharge point. Study Design : A Descriptive Study. Result Out of 100 patients, 3 cases did not fulfill the criteria of day–care surgery, post operatively. The surgery done in one of those cases, was TLH (Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy), where a little excess bleeding, peroperative, needed a close observation in hospital set–up for more than twenty four hours. The other case was ruptured tubal ectopic pregnancy, where salpingectomy done easily but prior blood loss needed blood transfusion and thereby the hospital stay was more than 24 hrs. The third case was of extensive endometriosis, preventing the entry of laparoscope, and ultimately conversion to open method had to be done, where adhesionolysis and partial removal of endometrioma was done with great difficulty, and this case needed a close observation for more than 24 hrs. Conclusion Actually, we must admit that the success of day–care surgery, mainly depends on advanced anaesthesia, which provide adequate quientening of patient with adequate relaxation and rapid recovery along with the skilled surgery with updated instruments for MIS (minimally invasive surgery).
