Background – In today’s era diseases are due to “oxidative stress” increase being realized that many of that result from an imbalance between formation and neutralization of free radicals. In all Ayurvedic scriptures Rasayana chikitsa is a unique branch of Ashtang Ayurveda. Acharya Charaka has described in Rasayana chikitsa chapter 1/1(7–8) the word of Rasayana means the way for attaining excellent rasadi dhatus (the nourishing fluid which is produced immediately after digestion etc). Several medicine plants have been described as Rasayanas in Ayurveda. Aim & objective – The main objective of this study is to increase the awareness of the Rasayana therapy is effective in different oxidative stress diseases. Material and methods– The authentic subject material has been reviewed from Ayurveda and modern medical literature. Selected articles from oxidative stress (mano rog) literature were reviewed and used as the basis for the discussion of how Tridosha & manovaha srotas interact with each other and affect patient’s quality of life and selection of appropriate management like Rasayana therapy. Discussion and results– This study is mainly focused on Rasayana therapy effects of commonly oxidative stress and premature aging. Oxidative stress disease produces anxiety, depression, and other psychological problems that affect the patient’s life in many ways comparable to Arthritis, Asthma or other disabling illnesses. Conclusion – Rasayana is helpful prevention of oxidative stress underappreciated. In this way, the present review has made a humble effort in clearly understand Rasayana useful in oxidative stress.
