Introduction: Oral Care is the quality indicator of standard patient care. Despite the fact that oral care considerably reduces the number of oral bacteria and the risk of aspiration pneumonia in ventilated patients, it is imperative to reduce the frequent handling of oral mucosa of patients suffering from chronic liver diseases (CLD). Methods: The study design was systematic review and it includes studies from databases of PUBMED and MEDLINE. Result: Total 34 relevant articles were under taken. Studies included are related to incidences and diagnosis of pneumonia among Ventilated Patients, assessment of Oral Health Status and frequency of oral care, role of oral care protocol and guidelines in prevention of VAP and Oral Health in Chronic Liver disease patients. Abstracted information is related to their design, population characteristics, intervention and outcomes. Conclusion: The findings indicate that the Oral Care Protocol was effective in improving the Oral Health Status and reducing the occurrence and Progression of Pneumonia among ventilated patients.
