Introduction: Due to lack of proper trauma registry management, epidemiological pattern of extremity fractures is not well understood in our country. The purpose of this study was to understand the epidemiology and pattern of extremity fractures among patients who were admitted to trauma center in Delhi from April 2017 to April 2018. Materials and methods: This is a retrospective observational study in patients ranging from 13– 90 years of age. The patients’ data was assembled according to epidemiological parameters and conclusion was drawn using IBM SPSS Software. Results: Total 897 patients were selected for the study as per the inclusion criteria. The mean age was 36.27±15.7 years with majority of patients between 21–40 years. Out of total 897 patients, 81.5% (731) were males and 18.50% (166) were females. RTA (70%) was the most common mode of injury. Overall, lower limb fractures (67%) were more common than upper limb fractures (33%). Fracture of femur (27.50%) was the most common extremity fracture overall. In isolated upper limb injuries, fracture of both bones forearm (34.40%) was most common while in lower limb, fracture of femur (41%) was most common. Conclusion: Epidemiological pattern of extremity fractures can help health care planners to design improved preventive and therapeutic measures thus decreasing socio–economic burden in the country.
