Bleeding time (BT) test done on someone to assess their platelets function. Clotting time (CT) is the time required for a sample of blood to coagulate in vitro under standard condition. Due to presence of estrogens in young adult females reduce the functions of platelets which increase BT, prolong CT and decreases plasma fibrinogen level. Study was done to assess the genders difference in BT and CT. A group of 100 volunteers between the ages of 18 and 25 years include 42 male and 58 female were taken for study. The BT and CT were determined by Duke’s and capillary tube method respectively. It was found that the mean BT in male and female were 131.19 and 135.78 while mean CT in male and female were 222.38 and 226.47 respectively. BT and CT were more in females as compared to males.
