Sixty patients of grade 3 or grade 4 haemorrhoids , who attended the outdoor clinic of General Surgery, South Eastern Railway Hospital, Garden Reach, were included in the prospective study during the period from June 2019 to December 2019. For this study aim was to evaluate whether LigasureTM Haemorrhoidectomy is an effective alternative to conventional Milligan–Morgan haemorrhoidectomy. After comparing the two groups it was found that LigasureTM Haemorrhoidectomy is a safer and equally effective alternative to the traditional methods of haemorrhoidectomy. Upon comparing various parameters like blood loss, time taken for surgery, it was found better than Milligan–Morgan Haemorrhoidectomy though statistically not significant. Post–op complications like pain status and the hospital stay were less in the Ligasure group. Limitation of the study being one with smaller sample size and it needs a longer follow–up period.
