Bruxism is a movement disorder characterized by grinding and clenching of teeth. Awake bruxism is found more in females as compared to males while sleep bruxism shows no such gender prevalence. Bruxism has a different set of causative factors. The early diagnosis and management can prevent the breakdown of the dentition and pain in the orofacial region. Although various treatment modalities are present, the successful management of bruxism lies in the precise diagnosis and isolation of the etiology. The aim of this revision article is a better understanding of the various concepts in diagnosis and management of bruxism.
