Coronavirus disease 2019, also called COVID–19 is the latest infectious disease rapidly developing worldwide. Primary concept is that the transmission of the virus is mainly through aerosol or saliva droplets. Dental care settings invariably carry the risk of COVID–19 infection due to the specificity of its procedures considering that numerous kinds of dental equipments that are used in the clinical practice in the form of handpieces, air–water syringes, ultrasonic scalers, due to which considerable amount of aerosols which are produced, thus putting the dental professionals at high risk. Taking into consideration the severity of the pandemic, it is essential to give clear and easy guidelines to manage dental patients and to make working dentists safe from any risk. Thus, this review aims at putting forth certain precautions the dental professionals should take so as to avoid getting infected by coronavirus.
