Abstract :

A Study to Assess the Knowledge, Attitude and Practices of Five Moments of Hand Hygiene among Staff Nurses in Bombay Hospital, Indore. (M.P). the aim and objective are To assess the knowledge, attitude, and practice of five moments of hand hygiene among staff Nurses at Bombay hospital with their selected socio–demographic variables. A cross–sectional study was conducted among 60 staff nurses in Bombay Hospital Indore. Convenient sampling technique was used to enlist the subjects. Knowledge was assessed by using WHO hand hygiene questionnaire. Attitude and practices were evaluated by using another self–structured questionnaire. The results were calculated by using descriptive and inferential statistics. Descriptive statistics was used to calculate percentages for each of the responses given. The knowledge of staff nurses regarding hand hygiene was good (45 out of 60, 75%) and positive attitudes (70%) towards hand hygiene, but practice of hand hygiene are different in various moments.
