CURRENT TRENDS OF MEDICINAL PLANTS WITH POTENTIAL ANTIDIABETIC ACTIVITY: A REVIEW

Abstract :
Diabetes is a metabolic disorder primary characterized by a loss of glucose homeostasis, due to disorders of carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism, resulting from defects in insulin production, insulin secretion, insulin action. It can be cause organ damages. Medicines that are derived from plants are the best body balancers. They can be used to treatment of many diseases such as diabetes, asthma, eczema, etc., and can be used for maintaining body general health. In Indian pharmaceutical system of medicine, many of the medicinal plants have identified potential use as the blood glucose lowering agents.
