Recognizing Mental health and wellbeing in victims of violence among Santhal tribe women in Jharkhand, India

Abstract :

 The World Health Organization has estimated that mental and behavioral disorders accounted for 12 percent of the global burden of disease in 2000 and it is projected to increase to 15 percent by 2020 (World Health Assembly, 2011). Around one–fourth of the people from a given geographical area, community, setting, socio–economic background and gender experienced the mental disorder at some point in time in their lives (WHO, 2001). Accordingly, WHO has developed an action plan to address this issue, known as Mental health Action Plan (2013–2020), with the following  specific objectives and targets:   Objective 1: To strengthen effective leadership and governance for mental health
