Abstract :

Lead is a chemical element with symbol pb and atomic number 82. Lead exposure is the oldest known occupational health hazard. It causes irreversible health effects including hypertension, CNS problems, anemia and diminished heå acuity before it is clinically recognized. A blood level of 40 micro gm/dl or greater requires medical intervention. Herbal medicines from the Indian subcontinent have found to have high concentration of heavy metals (3).
