A COMPARISON STUDY OF USG WITH MRCP IN DIAGNOSING CHOLELITHIASIS

Abstract :

Background: To compare the sensitivity of USG and MRCP in diagnosing cholelithiasis. Methods: Prospective study of which 50 patients were included in the study who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Result: USG has the same sensitivity, specificity and accuracy when compared to MRCP and is also cost effective and can be easily performed in any patients. Conclusion: MRCP is costly when compared to USG. MRCP has more disadvantages when compared to USG. From this we conclude that MRCP is not necessary in diagnosing cholelithiasis .
