A Petrografic and Chemical Analysis of The Degree of Deformation in Historical Building Stones in Edirne

Abstract :

This article presents the findings of a laboratory study on samples taken from varying parts of Selimiye Mosque, �� ?erefeli Mosque and Saatli Medrese all located central Edirne, possible reasons for deformation. Based on the analysis of samples taken from different sides of historical buildings during restoration, this study has observed relatively higher deformation in dolomite-based and feldspar-containing building stones.
