Abstract :

Introduction: odontomas are focal malformation (hamartomas of dental tissue). They vary in size with small(common) to large and also be associated with bone expansion. Case presentation: A 18 year old male patient presented with a complain of mobile segment of lower posterior tooth region and gives a history of swelling in the lower back left tooth region since 1 year. OPG reveals radiopaque lesion surrounded by radiolucent band in the left posterior aspect of the mandible. Conclusion: The treatment modality for odotomas is determined by the size of the tumor. Small and medium sized lesions can easily be excised with surrounding anatomical structure being preserved, but in cases with large sized odontoma, more invasive treatment modalities can be needed
