A Study on Home Atmosphere in Relation to Academic Achievement of IX std Students in Thiruvallur District

Abstract :

This study was aimed to find out the difference in home atmosphere and academic achievement of IX standard student with respect to gender and residential area. And also intended to find out the relationship between home atmosphere and academic achievement of IX standard students. Descriptive survey method was adopted by administering questionnaire to analyze the home atmosphere. For this point a questionnaire was prepared and standard by the investigator. 200 students of IX standard were selected a sample from various schools of Government and Private schools in Thiruvallur District.These questionnaires were administered to those students during the month of June–2018. Differential and correlation analysis were made by using statistical package. The result shows that the home atmosphere for Girls is better than the Boys and enhanced for urban area children than children who are residing in rural area.The result also shows that there is no significant relationship exists between Home Atmosphere and Academic Achievement.
