A STUDY ON INVESTMENT PATTERN OF FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT IN INDIA

Abstract :

Foreign Direct Investment is a direct investment into production or business in a country by an individual or company of another country, either by buying a company or by expanding operations of an existing business in a country. Foreign direct investment is one of the major sources which increase the economic growth of the country especially for the developing countries. In this regard the present study has been conducted to study about the investment pattern of foreign direct investment in India during the years 2012–2013, and 2013–2014 thereby attracting highest FDI in sector such as service sector. The study was based on secondary data. The tool mainly used was correlation analysis. The study reveals that the investment pattern of foreign direct investment in India increases the capitalization opportunities, job opportunities and also development of countries economy by the equity inflows. Findings of study reveal that the service sector was consistently receiving decent portion of inflows through foreign direct investment over the stated period.
