Abstract :

Introduction: Respiration is importation for survival. Through the respiration many of the dust and microbes enter in the body. It may cause many respiratory problems in the human being. In that asthma is one of the major public health problems. Objectives: To assess the level of knowledge in home care management of onchial asthma among mothers of children .To assess the level of practice home care management of onchial asthma among mothers of children. To determine the effectiveness of video assisted teaching programme on knowledge and practice on home care management of onchial asthma among mothers of children. To associate the selected socio demographic variables with the post test knowledge and practice of home care management of onchial asthma among mothers of children. Methodology: A Pre–experimental one group pre–test post–test design with purposive sampling technique 50 samples was analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics. Result: There was association between the place of residence and post test knowledge on home care management of onchial asthma and is statistically significant at p<0.001level.
