An Analysis of Critical Rationalism

Prasannakumar E M

Abstract :

Modern Critical Rationalism has been introduced into the field of philosophy by Karl Popper. It is not a monolithic position. Various views of aesthetics are compatible with it. During his long years of philosophical activity Popper has developed it in different ways. The philosophers who have been influenced by Popper also have developed it in their own various ways. Popper has developed this concept not as a philosophical position but as an attitude or policy. William Warren Bartley has made some improvement in this concept. Bartley and Popper differ in the concept of the place of rationality within the whole philosophical debate. They both agree with the limitation of the rationalism as it is not open for proof. In this paper I analyse Critical Rationalism to ing about its current relevance.
