Abstract :

Aim: To compare the standard International Continence society (ICS) nomogram with Blaivas Groutz normogram for stratification of patients and subsequently defining the management for these patients. Materials and Methods: 20 female patients with BOO were included in the study. As per Blaivas Groutz the patients were classified into group A –mild (PdetQmax 20–57 cm of H2O), group B–moderate (PdetQmax 58–107) and group C–severe (PdetQmax >107 cm of H2O) obstruction. Results: 18, 7 and 5 patients were included in A, B and C group respectively. All patients in group A and B were managed conservatively.4 patients out of 5 in group C underwent surgical intervention. Conclusion: Blaivas Groutz Nomogram forms an excellent tool with high sensitivity but less specificity for BOO in females. Patients with PdetQmax >120 cm of H2O are likely to undergo corrective surgery
