APPLICATION OF DENDRIMERS IN drUG DELIVERY: A MULTIFACETED APPROACH

Abstract :

Dendrimers are highlyanched synthetic nano polymer, which have unique 3D macromolecules structures. Itsunique anched tree like structure providesenoughperipheral surface functionality and flexibility to attach or link desired molecules. The distinctive architectural design of dendrimers and other structural appearance haveanimmense effect on their other chemical andphysical nature. High level of controlled design and construction of dendrimer in their shape, size, length of anch and their exterior surface monolayer functions distinguished by virtue of thesespecific featuresoffer as most advantageous carriers in various biomedical and industrial applications. Dendrimers based targeted delivery is most emerging, particularly in the delivery of drugs and bio–macromolecules such DNA and siRNA for improving the index of therapeutic potential. This review iefly describesabout thedendrimers and theirs types,synthetic strategies, properties and different functionalities with their area of utilization, applications in drug delivery as well as other biological deliverables.
