Abstract :

Methods: The findings obtained during cervical cancer screening in rural women in the villages of Lucknow West (May 2013– July 2018) have been analyzed to find out the risk factors of cervical cancer. Results: The findings reveal vaginal discharge very common in the young and sexually active women between 21–30 years. The SIL and STD infections were also higher in this group. The SIL rate showed rise with increasing parity. Conclusions: The gynaecological symptoms especially vaginal discharge in the younger women, poor genital hygiene due to illiteracy and high parity played important role in development of cervical cancer in rural Indian women and should be considered as major risk factors of the disease.
