Abstract :
This before–and–after study (without controls) with educational intervention was conducted at a municipal medical college in in Western India to evaluate the awareness of first–year MBBS students regarding bioethics. The mean score (out of 20) of 31 females and 29 males participants significantly (p<0.0001) increased from 13.80 +/– 1.57 (pre–test) to 16.23 +/– 1.62 (post–test). The gender–wise differences in the pre– and post–test scores were not statistically significant and the maximum scores were identical for female and male students. Significant improvement in the post–test scores of participating students implied increased awareness after training in bioethics
