Abstract :

The biochemical alterations due to infection of bovine fascioliasis in cattle slaughtered within southeast Nigeria was investigated. Various biochemical parameters such as serum enzyme activities, serum protein levels, serum lipid contents and serum chemical compounds were determined using standard procedures. Statistically significant elevations were observed in the mean values of aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), urea and creatinine of Fasciola–infected cattle when compared to those of the control group (p
