Abstract :

We report Toric IOL Implantation with visually significant outcome in a 38 years old patient of Alport’s Syndrome with anterior and posterior lenticonus in both eyes. Patient presented to the Eye OPD of our tertiary care hospital with the chief complaints of progressive diminution of vision in both eyes of 12–15 months duration. A concerted interdisciplinary approach was adopted at our center to diagnose the patient with Alport Syndrome based on history and clinical findings. Slit lamp examination revealed bilateral presence of anterior and posterior lenticonus with classical oil–drop appearance. Vision in both eyes did not improve beyond 6/36, with spectacle correction. Clear lens extraction with Toric IOL Implantation was done in both the eyes of the patient at our center and post operatively patient was evaluated to assess the visual recovery.
