Characterization of Mg2+ substituted Cobalt ferrite nano particles synthesized by solgel method

Abstract :
In the present study samples of MgxCo1–xFe2O4 (x = 0.0, 0.5, and 1.0) ferrite nanoparticles were synthesized by the sol–gel auto combustion technique and the samples were sintered at 800 oC for 4 h. X–ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) were employed for characterization. XRD studies confirms the formation of single phase spinel structure with crystallite size in the range of 50–69 nm.
