Clinicopathological Correlation of Benign Breast Lesion; A Tertiary Care Centre Study

Abstract :

Introduction: – This study was done with aim to identified the burden of benign east lesions and to identify the common lesions and correlate that with clinical findings. Material and Methods: –This is a two–year (August 2016 to July 2018) prospective study of benign/nonmalignant lesions of east, conducted in department of Pathology, Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College, Ajmer Rajasthan. Results: – Total 620 east specimens received in study period, 461 (74.35%) were diagnosed as benign east lesions including miscellaneous lesions. Fioadenoma was the most common (67.03%) benign east lesion. Breast lump was the most common presenting complaint. The mean age for Benign lesion was 29.07±10.767 years with a wide age range of 13–70 years, and a peak age occurrence in the third decade. Conclusions: – Majority of cases having east problems was east lump and diagnosed to benign diseases. Fioadenoma was most common lesion affecting mainly young females and gynecomastia in male.
