Dr Shruti V Gajera

Abstract :

Aims and Objectives: To compare the operating time, post–operative outcomes and visual outcomes of conjunctival autograft (CAG) using fiin glue versus sutures, after surgical excision of primary nasal pterygium. Methods: Prospective randomized study of 40 eyes was done. Patients were divided in two groups:1) group 1(20 eyes)  underwent CAG with suture and 2) group 2(20 eyes) underwent CAG with fiin glue (group 2). Patients were followed up on day 1, day 3, day10, week 3 and week 6. Results: The mean operating time was less in fiin group. The post–operative outcomes were better in fiin group but there was no statistical difference in visual acuity compared in both the groups. Conclusion: There was marked reduction in operating time in fiin group and the post–operative outcomes was significantly less in fiin group.
