Abstract :

INTRODUCTION : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the dentinal tubule penetration of three different root canal sealers ( AH plus (Resin based sealer), MTA Fillapex (MTA based) and RC Fill (Zinc oxide Eugenol base with Iodoform)) by using scanning electron microscope Materials and methods: 30 single rooted human extracted teeth were taken. Decoronation and biomechanical preparation done till F3 protaper universal rotary files. Samples were obturated with three different sealers and transverse sectioning done at 4mm and 8mm where the penetration was then measured under scanning electron microscope. Statistical analysis used : The Tukeys Post Hoc test was used to compare the penetration depth between the different sealers and between the two levels. Results: The better sealer penetration group I (AH plus ) > group II (MTA fillapex) > group III RC Fill with significant values (p<0.5) Conclusions: This study proves that AH plus has better dentinal penetration than other two groups
