Abstract :

The present study was conducted with an objective to find the correlation between carotid doppler suggesting plaques and stenosis and MRI of those patients suggesting arterial ischemia/infarction. 50 patients which were diagnosed as having acute cereal ischemia on MRI ain were analysed with carotid Doppler in gray scale, colour Doppler and then spectral waveform and the result was obtained by correlating the findings of both the investigations. Carotid Doppler is an important non invasive diagnostic tool which can be used for screening in asymptomatic patients who have risk of cereovascular events.
