CORTICAL BLINDNESS AFTER SNAKE BITE ENVENOMATION

Abstract :

 Snakebite is one of the common life–threatening medical emergencies, owing to the effects of the various toxins present in the venom and it is encountered in Indian population particularly in rural and farming areas. Cortical blindness following bites containing neurotoxin is a rare complication. Here we report the case of a patient with cortical blindness due to snake bite. Also we describe the clinical findings and imaging of a patient with hypoxic ain damage.
